The Carp Pond is fishing extremely well, fish are being caught off the surface using sonubaits oily floaters. They're also being caught on the bottom using corn, meat, boilies fished over a bed of pellet.
The Horseshoe pond has been fishing its socks off. The work carried out in the winter has made a huge difference to the fishing. The 'shallows' are fishing superbly well with pellet and meat doing best. Some fantastic bags of bream, barbel and carp are being caught. The island which is now closed to anglers is also making a huge impact with feeder fishing doing producing good bags. Chuck a method feeder with meat or corn tight to the island and you cant go far wrong. Matthew Cooke recently landed a 150lb bag of mixed fish including barbel to 7lb on the method.
The Willow pond as ever is fishing superbly well. Even when the other ponds don't fish so well this popular pond does. Use shallow tactics and you won't go home short of fish.. 100lb+ bags are regular. Use pellet for best results. The Wednesday over 50's match is regularly held on the willow and is yet to produce less then a 100lb winning bag. Bait Tech Method Mix is a winner fished with banded pellet (any size) or maggot.
The Match Pond is producing tremendous amounts of fish from all over. All depths are working well. The 6 hour match record was smashed by Neil Morgan with 188lb 1oz of fish. He was fishing in the margin using meat. Casting to the island is also producing fish.
The Bridge Pond has produced some remarkable results recently. Rhys Jones fished the pellet waggler and and landed over 140lb near the back island by the house. Rob O'Brian landed over 150lb fishing down the margin including a 6lb Barbel. Also Jon Calli fished a 3.5hour session fishing to the island catching over 100lb of fish. He caught using micro pellet and Banofee flavour liquid. The fish are being caught on all methods.
Match Pond, the over 50's match this week was won by Paul Waddington on the Match lake with a winning 4hr Bag of 110lb, 2nd was Martin Trueman with 101lb from the Willow and 3rd was Peter Meese with 85lb from the Willow
There is an over 50's match every Wednesday, the draw being at 1pm. Entry is only £10
The match record now stands at 216lb caught on the match lake on the 14/06/14 by Welsh National Angler Lee Edwards.
