SOUTH WALES PREMIER COARSE FISHERY
CEFN MABLY LAKES

The bridge pond is our 30 peg pleasure fishing pond. It’s shaped attractively in a figure of 8 formation with 2 separate islands. The pond has a 3’ shelf around the pond as a feature. And has a maximum depth of about 6’. It has lots of bank space and all 30 pegs are linked by a gravel path. This pond has the most amount of variety, there are large quantities of Crucian, F1 Mirror, Common and Ghost Carp. To complement the Carp are Bream, Tench, Barbel and Roach. The past 2 years has seen fish that were stocked at 4 lb in 2006 weighed  in at 12lb - 16lb. These fish are on the feed all the time which provides great sport and some serious bags!!.

                           SPECIES STOCKED:

"The past four years has seen this pond become our most popular. The maturing pond has produced some astonishing bags of mixed fish, and it's this we think gives it it's appeal. You can catch Carp to 16lb top or bottom, 100lb bags for fun or catch bags of Roach and Bream winter and summer. The variety and productivity really does set it apart" (Owen Jones owner)

Summer: This pond fishes similar to the

match pond, pellet has been the top bait for

years. Banded pellet has been the top method

this summer, but with so much varity you can fish

all sorts of methods. Paste works well down the edge,

the two islands attract fish so use a method feeder tight

to the island with method mix and meat for good catches. You

can also use bread or fish up in the water with pellet or castor/maggot.

Winter: The bridge fishes amazing through the winter. You can even catch

shallow, it's will take longer to get them up but they will. Pellet and paste on the

deck is another method put to good use through the winter and generally fishing

this way will attract bigger fish. If all else fails chuck a maggot feeder tight to

island

The bridge pond recently hosted an episode of fishing guru's with Steve Ringer, Adam Rooney, Dean Macey and Ali Hamidi. They had a great day with well in excess of 400lb of caught. the two methods used were pellet waggler to the island and then down the margin and method feeder to the island and down the margin
